I think all you people are missing the point a bit here. A lot of you are complaining saying "oh but it looks like prophecies armour".
Now...hear me out on this one. Factions has its own island, Cantha cantha has its own themes, traditions, society and style right?...like China right? Similarly with Elona, its a desert continent very much like Africa right?
Now eye of the north is an expansion upon the continent of TYRIA!!
Its all the same land mass, (well technically Elona is off the map from the Crystal Desert.....but y'know)Its the same continent. Cantha has Cantha armour, Elona has Elona armour, Tyria has Tyria armour. Regardless of where it is in Tyria it is still Tyria.....thats my thoughts any way.

Unfortunately some of the eotn armors are reskins of cantha armors, eg. asura warrior = kurzick warrior.

didn't stop them from adding butt-stomping dinos to the asuran areas. heh heh. those dinos should have cleared out all other enemies, given their 1337ness.

There's a difference between "no changes to the existing armor" (which, iirc, is what they said) and adding new armor, something they've done a couple of times (in Prophecies, at that)...

I'd love to see some new armor but I think deep down we all know that we'll never get any.

well still it would be be fair if they added armor for all proffessions except warrior...

Warriors have 1 armor set more then all the rest... so 1 armor set for all the other proffessions would be nice... Silver Eagle for every1 then ^^

If they did do a new Elite Endgame GW:EN set, this would be my idea:

Elementalist: The classic Wizard look, with the robes and pointy hat and such, except with bits and ends similiar to the sin ancient armor gauntlets with the dangling cloth. It would be naturally dark in color and have a lighting effect similiar to dervish primeval.

Warrior: A dark look similiar to the main character in the game "Overlord".

Mesmer: How about they keep it classy, except with a full-mask that has the face of a dwarf, and some nice layers to their armor (like most Factions elementalist.)

Monk: How about a combination of the tattoo and clothing armor sets? The chest could be a really nice tatto design, while the hands could have ringed wrist peices made of charred rock. The leggings could be of the layered-leggings variety. I see people using a similiar combo like this all the time, and an official one would look real nice.

Necromancer: How about a dark wizard-esque look similiar to the Ring-Wraiths in LotR, except without the full face mask. Instead, it could be a real awesome scar-pattern that made your eyes glow.

Ranger: Ranger armor could be a sort of Drizzt inspired body armor that also did not limit mobility. Like Primeval, but the materials would be chain-links and some parts made of mithril and iron.

Dervish: I would like to see an armor set that had the leggings going out in a sort of possessed fashion, like how it droops down at the bottom, but has tendrils that reach out? Other than that, it should have a top with Destroyer-looking peices.

Assassin: Not, a reskin, but something similiar to Ancient, except with all of the blades made of obsidian or unrefined glass.

Ritualist: We need a complete outfit made entirely of skeletal peices. The top and bottom could contain the spine and rib cage surrounding a cloth peice, etc.

Paragon: Something similiar to General Morgahns outfit, except made entirely of ice and a material similiar to the Destroyer Gauntlets at the same time. Something probably better for Elementalists...

Well...that's my idea for endgame GW:EN armor. Criticize me if you want, it's just an idea. :IO <-----Mustache

this is exactly what I'm talking about, I love the idea of Destroyer armor, it'd go perfect with my destroyer maul

to make it harder to get, it could probably require the destroyer cores to make as well, maybe

This game already has plenty of "elite" armor.

Do you really want everyone to end up looking the same because they all want "TEH UBER IMBA ARMOR OF DOOM"?

Here's a little rundown of things you can already get to look "elite":

You want something dark and expensive: get Obsidian.

You want something stylish and fashionable: get Vabbian.

You want something weird and spiky: get Primeval.

You want something vintage and timeless: get Ancient.

You want something oriental and heroic: get Elite Canthan.

You want something gothic and mysterious: get Elite Kurzick.

You want something organic and natural: get Elite Luxon.

And I'm skipping quite a few here (the ones from Prophecies, notably) that are also "elite".

I frankly applaud the fact that there's no be-all end-all armor set that you absolutely need to be wearing in order to be "elite".

It would end up being a uniform.

Thank god most Obsidian armor looks horrible, forcing the players to actually make a choice about how they want to look; and not just settle for the most expensive one that others dictate them to get.
I love this but you shoulda put it like this
You want something fuggly and expensive: get Obsidian.

You want something stylish and fashionable: get Vabbian.

You want something dark and spiky: get Primeval.

You want something vintage and Perty: get Ancient.

You want something kingly and heroic: get Elite Canthan.

You want something knightly and mysterious: get Elite Kurzick.

You want something made of plants and trees: get Elite Luxon.

Dude, I was only suggesting the idea because the existing armors in GWEN arent original and are very similar to existing sets.

I just thought it would be nice if a fresh, new, original set was created as an end-game set!

A set you get for completing GWEN and not drawf'n armor! And whats to say everyone would end up getting the same armor.

Does everyone own end game armor from factions or NF? Nope. Because it doesnt suit everyones taste.

Im not suggesting this armor be some sort of "elite" or "oober" set, because we have that in the form of FOW armor. I just think its odd they didnt follow the same trend from factions and NF by having true end-game stuff.

Stuff you can only get after doing the last mission/quest/dungeon and accessing in a unique instance each time.

Just something that can be truely be considered "original to GWEN" and not just a sproosed up version of existing armor.

Wow...this is becoming a trend. I find myself in agreement again.

This would also satisfy those people that dont like the fact you have to achieve rank 5 to get the other armors, as this would be available so long as you complete the primary quests (no rank required).

Good thought.

I'm all in for the "ultimate elite armor of uber pwnage of doom"

seriously, it would have been a nice gesture from anet to give us some new armors instead of the crappy reskins, i mean, this was the last part of the series, and GW2 will come out eventually; in the meantime we ould have worked for it

maybe some "Slayer's Armor", since we've been slaying demons, monsters, gods, etc.

why did you make ANOTHER pointless thread? Gaile already said NO MORE ARMORS IN GWEN. Please do your research.

The OP didn't offer either a fix nor a solution, it is just one of those "I want more" threads.

The reskins are embarrassing, but I personally got the impression from the NF sets that they really were already starting to run out of some ideas (in certain cases more than others). While it would be nice to have more armor sets that look like some creative effort went into them, I don't think I'd get that feeling with a set of aaaarrrg-mega-destroyer-pwning-1337-toughness!!!!!!!!1 armor.
